The BCSD is currently crafting a Long-Range Facilities Plan with the guidance of outside consultants. The District has engaged in 3 demographic studies, all of which came to the conclusion that enrollment in the BCSD is declining, and all of our Elementary Schools have excess capacity. Over the course of this year, the District will be working with the consultants and the community to create a Long-Range Facilities Plan which will be recommended to the Board of Education in the Spring of 2020. Possible long-term options include operating 3 elementary schools; operating 4 elementary schools; or remaining with 5 elementary schools.

Details on the process and work done thus far can be found on the District website: Long-Range Facilities Planning Process

The consulting company (Interactive, Inc.) presented a status report on the Long-Range Strategic Plan at the October 2nd Board of Education meeting - that meeting can be found on the BCSD-TV Video on Demand on the website: Status Report Presentation

Dr. Manno has put together some Frequently Asked Questions, which are also available on the District website: FAQs
